Rekart Rider is a delivery management product for riders, similar to Blinkit & Zepto rider apps, but with extra features like cash pickup & reverse logistics. The app was live and used daily, but the design just hadn't kept up I was brought in to solve the requirements & improve the UI without breaking core flow

Three patterns came out of the interviews consistently 1. Riders struggled with multi-step task flows for time-sensitive actions 2. Cash pickup & reverse logistics caused the most confusion, with no clear status visibility 3. Everything competed for attention as the old UI had no visual hierarchy

Based on the insights & competitive analysis, I proposed a simplified user journey to the PM & Founder. Suggestions included reducing taps to complete a delivery & using bottom sheets for quick actions The direction was to make the happy flow fastest, & keep edge cases accessible but subtle

Every decision was made to save rider's time 1. Reduced delivery completion from 5 taps to 2 by pre-selecting common actions 2. Added status chips for cash pickup & reverse logistics 3. Used bottom sheets for edge cases, like modifying item quantities 4. Prioritised address first on the delivery task card

Within 5 hours of app launch, Riders completed over 1,340 deliveries, & within 2 weeks, the CS team received improved app experience feedback from users This was one of my dream projects, where I followed the design process & achieved the results with learnings across research, iterations, & dev handoff
